Disinfection Cleaning
What is a COVID 19 or Disinfection Cleaning Service?
According to the CDC, a disinfectant product is categorized as a chemical agent which kills infectious virus-causing pathogens and/or other harmful microorganisms, but may not kill bacterial spores applied to inanimate objects. Subsequently, any COVID 19 cleaning service should include a wipe down and/or sanitation of all hard surfaces, and then an EPA approved disinfectant agent should be allowed to saturate the air and surfaces to remove remaining pathogens.
Why Wipe Down Surfaces?
Sterilization destroys all viruses, microorganisms, and germs on surfaces to prevent the transmission of disease. If someone in the home and/or facility has been infected with COVID 19 those germs and bacteria can remain on surfaces for 2 - 9 days. Subsequently, our sterilization cleaning includes wiping down high touch areas with a EPA approved sanitation agent to kill all surface area bacteria before we mist the disinfectant chemical.
Sanitation vs. Disinfecting
Sanitizing destroys and eliminates bacterial spores, fungi, and viruses. On the contrary, disinfectants don't kill the spores, but do effectively destroy pathogens on nonliving and hard surfaces (EPA).
